RESPONDRONE

RESPONDRONE is a Horizon 2020 initiative focused on developing an integrated multi-UAV platform for first responders during emergencies. By simplifying mission planning, data sharing, and drone coordination, the project enhances real-time decision-making in disaster scenarios. Alpha Unmanned Systems, bearing the technical direction of the project, contributes rotary-wing UAV expertise, ensuring the platforms can operate reliably and safely in complex, high-stakes conditions.

This project is funded by the European Union’s H2020 Research and Innovation Programme and the Korean Government under Grant Agreement No. 833717.

ILIAD

Under the Horizon 2020 framework, the ILIAD project aims to construct an interoperable “digital twin” of the ocean, enabling more effective monitoring, environmental assessment, and resource management. Alpha Unmanned Systems contributes by providing UAV-based data-collection capabilities for maritime applications, enhancing the project’s efforts in gathering and integrating critical oceanographic information.

This project has received funding from the European Commission’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation programme under grant agreement No 101037643.

UAV de Última Generación y Alta Eficiencia (UAV-UGAE)

This initiative seeks to develop a new generation of UAVs with enhanced propulsion, energy efficiency, and manufacturing methods, reducing emissions while improving endurance and reliability. The overall aim is to position these UAVs for a range of industrial, environmental, and strategic uses. Alpha Unmanned Systems leads platform design and prototype validation, drawing on its expertise in robust rotary-wing architectures.

This investment has been financed by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism (Law 38/2003) and by the European Union – Next Generation EU under the Recovery Plan.

DRONELINKPLUS

DRONELINKPLUS is an R&D project centered on innovative 5G connectivity solutions that enable cooperative, secure, and efficient UAV missions. Leveraging advanced 5G-based communications alongside complementary technologies, the project seeks to equip UAVs with enhanced CNS (communications, navigation, and surveillance) capabilities. This will allow multiple unmanned aircraft—of varying sizes and configurations—to coordinate safely in shared airspace. Alpha Unmanned Systems’ role focuses on refining multi-drone swarm operations, developing software and flight-control methods that integrate with new 5G-based link technologies. By doing so, Alpha helps ensure that its rotary-wing UAV platforms can perform collaborative flights and gain enhanced situational awareness (sense-and-avoid) for complex, long-range missions.

The DRONELINKPLUS project consortium is composed of Alpha Unmanned Systems S.L., CENTUM Research & Technology S.L, Anteral, and Fuvex Civil, under the Aeronautical Technology Plan framework.

With a budget of €1,739,278.95, funded by the CDTI and supported by the Ministry of Science and Innovation, the project aims to research new connectivity technologies for safe, collaborative aerial operations.

SkyLink Vision

SkyLink Vision, funded by TrialsNet project, leverages 5G-based communication and ground/cloud-based AI analytics to deliver real-time high-resolution aerial surveillance. The project’s goal is to enable rapid video capture and seamless data transfer for security and safety applications. Alpha Unmanned Systems uses its UAV platforms, ensuring reliable flight performance and payload integration that support advanced, low-latency video transmission and live analytics.

TrialsNet project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon-JU-SNS-2022 Research and Innovation Programme under Grant Agreement No. 101095871

HYBRID POWERTRAIN ENHANCEMENTS A900

Focused on improving the Alpha 900’s powerplant, this R&D project investigates hybrid powertrain solutions to increase flight efficiency and reduce operational noise and emissions. The primary goal is to extend the A900’s operational range while maintaining reliability and high performance. Alpha Unmanned Systems spearheads the design and validation process, integrating new engine configurations and assessing their benefits through rigorous flight testing.

This project has received financial support from the Community of Madrid and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
